• Contribute knowledge and expertise to childhood language development in Norwegian • Help develop a lexical database organizing words by part of speech and morphological form • Support evaluation and selection of existing lexical data sources • Review lexical data for errors and make corrections • Collaborate with software developers and AAC content experts to define Norwegian-specific software features and expected behaviors • Review the software product and AAC implementations to ensure Norwegian vocabulary, grammar, and syntax support children’s communication needs • Attend two weekly meetings of 30–60 minutes • Perform independent, self-directed work throughout the project
• Native speaker of Norwegian • Fluency in English • Background in linguistics and childhood language development • Strong understanding of Norwegian grammatical structure and morphology • Ability to discuss complex linguistic concepts with English-speaking developers • Strong knowledge of research on language development and vocabulary acquisition in Norwegian for typically developing children • Conceptual understanding of AAC principles and how vocabulary, grammar, and language development are represented in AAC systems • Familiarity with AAC vocabulary organization, content design, or communication support tools for children preferred • Experience reviewing lexical resources, language data, or language-focused software products preferred • Availability for up to 20 hours per week over approximately 9 months • Ability to work as an independent contractor and manage own taxes
