📋 Description

• Design control methods for high-fidelity and fast quantum operations • Contribute to the development of accurate physics models based on real hardware specifications • Work with hardware teams to implement new methods on quantum devices • Develop procedures for benchmarking quantum operations • Analyse experimental results and compare them against theoretical predictions and models

🎯 Requirements

• Experience in designing control methods for high-fidelity quantum operations • Strong background in the theory of light-matter interactions and modelling quantum dynamics in software • Proven track record of collaboration with experimental research groups and/or the quantum hardware industry • Experience with circuit-level quantum noise models and benchmarking of quantum operations • Proficient in writing scientific code, e.g. using Python • PhD in quantum computing, quantum control or similar • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with published results in the field of research • This role can be based in Hamburg or worked remotely, but you must be based in Germany for this position • Experience with quantum gates in ion trap devices (nice-to-have) • Qiskit (nice-to-have)
