📋 Description

• Design and build the server-side foundation to transition Castle Busters from a client-authoritative game to a competitive, server-validated game • Build server-side validation for currency, card upgrades, chest opens, and progression • Move toward server authority for competitive features and trusted centralized game state • Design APIs and player-state management for Unity client integration • Help shape the division of responsibilities between client and server • Work across infrastructure, API design, coding, and client-side integration using Golang • Collaborate with client developers and game designers from feature design through delivery, validation, and iteration • Contribute to Voodoo's shared gaming backend platform and collaborate with the wider backend team • Gather requirements, champion new technology initiatives, and leverage existing solutions • Write code that scales to millions of users

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of backend development experience • Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals • Extreme fluency in Golang, with at least 1 year in a professional environment • Mastery of SQL and NoSQL • Background in high-scale systems • Understanding of Unix-like environments • AI-first mindset: comfortable using AI daily and building custom agents or reusable automations • Experience working in cross-functional agile teams • Strong analytical skills with a track record of solving complex problems related to scalability, performance, and integration in high-stakes environments • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to be self sufficient and work autonomously • A deep interest in game development is a plus • Fluent in English
