📋 Description

• Deliver practical training in 3D scanning fundamentals, with a focus on mechanical engineering • Teach the complete Scan-to-CAD process: 3D scan → point cloud → mesh → reverse engineering → CAD model → technical drawing → manufacturing • Supervise project work based on real components • Incorporate current technologies and industrial use cases into lessons • Support participants in confidently applying their knowledge in practice, including in the virtual classroom

🎯 Requirements

• Technical professional background, preferably in mechanical engineering, design, product development, manufacturing, metrology, 3D digitization, or a comparable technical field • Practical experience with 3D scanning or processing 3D scan data • Basic understanding of different 3D scanning technologies and their applications • Knowledge of working with point clouds and/or mesh data • Basic understanding of preparing and further processing scan data • Basic knowledge of at least one commonly used CAD system • Understanding of how scan data can be integrated into technical design or development processes • Ability to communicate technical content in a clear and practical manner • Willingness to use the existing training materials to build targeted knowledge of individual curriculum topics • Knowledge of fundamental scan workflows, from data acquisition through further processing • Knowledge of common sources of error when acquiring 3D scan data • Basic knowledge of cleaning, filtering, and aligning scan data • Knowledge of the basic creation and editing of meshes • Knowledge of common data and exchange formats used in 3D scanning and CAD • Basic understanding of reverse engineering and Scan-to-CAD processes • Ability to assess the quality and usability of scan data at a basic level • Knowledge of typical industrial applications of 3D scanning • Basic understanding of the use of 3D scanning in design, manufacturing, quality assurance, or product development • Ability to demonstrate a basic scan workflow using a practical use case • Professional experience in design, product development, metrology, or quality assurance (nice to have) • Experience with reverse engineering (nice to have) • Experience with Scan-to-CAD workflows (nice to have) • Knowledge of CATIA, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or comparable CAD systems (nice to have) • Experience with professional 3D scanning software (nice to have) • Knowledge of optical metrology (nice to have) • Experience with industrial component inspection or quality assurance (nice to have) • Knowledge of 3D printing or additive manufacturing (nice to have) • Experience with mobile mapping, drone scanning, or large-volume scanning (nice to have) • Knowledge of applications in construction and surveying (nice to have) • Basic knowledge of current developments such as AI-assisted data processing, AR/VR, or automated scan analysis (nice to have) • Manufacturer certification in 3D scanning or metrology (nice to have) • Experience as a trainer, lecturer, or in workplace knowledge transfer (nice to have) • AEVO certification or comparable pedagogical qualification (nice to have) • Process-oriented thinking and a holistic understanding of the Scan-to-CAD workflow • Ability to explain complex content clearly, understandably, and with enthusiasm • Independent, structured, and participant-focused approach to work • Enjoyment of supporting people in their professional development
