📋 Description

• Delivering hands-on training in 3D scanning fundamentals, with a focus on mechanical engineering • Covering the entire Scan-to-CAD process, from 3D scanning through point clouds, meshes, and reverse engineering to CAD models, technical drawings, and manufacturing • Supervising project work based on real-world components • Incorporating current technologies and industrial use cases into lessons • Supporting participants in confidently applying their knowledge in practice, including in the virtual classroom

🎯 Requirements

• Technical professional background, preferably in mechanical engineering, design engineering, product development, manufacturing, metrology, 3D digitization, or a comparable technical field • Practical experience with 3D scanning or processing 3D scan data • Basic understanding of different 3D scanning technologies and their applications • Knowledge of working with point clouds and/or mesh data • Basic understanding of scan data preparation and further processing • Basic knowledge of at least one commonly used CAD system • Understanding of integrating scan data into technical design or development processes • Ability to communicate technical content in a clear, practical manner • Willingness to familiarize yourself with individual curriculum topics using the training materials provided • Knowledge of basic scanning workflows, common sources of error, data and exchange formats, and industrial use cases • Basic knowledge of cleaning, filtering, and aligning scan data, as well as creating and editing meshes • Basic understanding of reverse engineering and Scan-to-CAD processes • Ability to make a basic assessment of the quality and usability of scan data • Basic understanding of using 3D scanning in design engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, or product development • Ability to demonstrate a basic scanning workflow in practice • Nice to have: Professional experience in design engineering, product development, metrology, or quality assurance • Nice to have: Experience with reverse engineering and Scan-to-CAD workflows • Nice to have: Knowledge of CATIA, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or comparable CAD systems • Nice to have: Experience with professional 3D scanning software • Nice to have: Knowledge of optical metrology • Nice to have: Experience with industrial component inspection or quality assurance • Nice to have: Knowledge of 3D printing or additive manufacturing • Nice to have: Experience with mobile mapping, drone scanning, or large-volume scanning • Nice to have: Knowledge of applications in construction and surveying • Nice to have: Basic knowledge of current developments such as AI-assisted data processing, AR/VR, or automated scan evaluation • Nice to have: Manufacturer certification in 3D scanning or metrology • Nice to have: Experience as a trainer, lecturer, or workplace learning and development professional • Nice to have: AEVO certification or a comparable pedagogical qualification
