📋 Description

• Deliver hands-on training on 3D scanning fundamentals, with a focus on mechanical engineering • Teach the complete scan-to-CAD process: 3D scanning, point clouds, meshes, reverse engineering, CAD models, technical drawings, and manufacturing • Supervise project work based on real-world components • Incorporate current technologies and industrial use cases into the training • Support participants in confidently applying their knowledge in practice, including in the virtual classroom • Guide people on their journey into digital product development

🎯 Requirements

• Technical professional background, preferably in mechanical engineering, design engineering, product development, manufacturing, metrology, 3D digitization, or a comparable technical field • Practical experience with 3D scanning or processing 3D scan data • Basic understanding of different 3D scanning technologies and their applications • Knowledge of working with point clouds and/or mesh data • Basic understanding of preparing and further processing scan data • Basic knowledge of at least one common CAD system • Understanding of integrating scan data into technical design or development processes • Ability to explain technical content clearly and in a practical, application-oriented manner • Willingness to familiarize yourself with individual curriculum topics using existing training materials • Knowledge of basic scanning workflows, from data capture through further processing • Knowledge of typical sources of error when capturing 3D scan data • Basic knowledge of cleaning, filtering, and aligning scan data • Knowledge of the basic creation and editing of meshes • Knowledge of common data and exchange formats used in 3D scanning and CAD • Basic understanding of reverse engineering and scan-to-CAD processes • Ability to assess the basic quality and usability of scan data • Knowledge of typical industrial applications of 3D scanning • Basic understanding of using 3D scanning in design engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, or product development • Ability to demonstrate a simple scanning workflow using a practical use case • Nice to have: Professional experience in design engineering, product development, metrology, or quality assurance • Nice to have: Experience with reverse engineering and scan-to-CAD workflows • Nice to have: Knowledge of CATIA, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or comparable CAD systems • Nice to have: Experience with professional 3D scanning software • Nice to have: Knowledge of optical metrology • Nice to have: Experience with industrial component inspection or quality assurance • Nice to have: Knowledge of 3D printing or additive manufacturing • Nice to have: Experience with mobile mapping, drone scanning, or large-volume scanning • Nice to have: Knowledge of applications in construction and surveying • Nice to have: Basic knowledge of current developments such as AI-assisted data processing, AR/VR, or automated scan analysis • Nice to have: Manufacturer certification in 3D scanning or metrology • Nice to have: Experience as a trainer, lecturer, or in workplace knowledge transfer • Nice to have: AEVO certification or a comparable educational qualification
