📋 Description

• Administer and maintain Linux operating systems across production and non-production environments. • Troubleshoot operating system, application, performance, storage, networking, and service-related issues. • Perform Linux OS installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, security updates, and lifecycle management. • Configure and maintain system services, packages, repositories, users, permissions, and access controls. • Manage backup and recovery procedures, validate backups, and support system recovery. • Develop Bash and Python automation and operational scripts. • Investigate system logs, identify root causes, and perform infrastructure incident troubleshooting. • Apply Linux security best practices, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation. • Administer KVM and VMware ESXi virtualization environments. • Provision and configure virtual machines and their CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. • Troubleshoot hypervisor, virtual machine, storage, networking, and performance issues. • Perform hypervisor installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle activities. • Monitor virtualization availability, health, capacity, and resource utilization. • Support virtual machine and hypervisor migration, recovery, and maintenance activities. • Administer Dell and HPE physical server infrastructure. • Install, configure, provision, decommission, and troubleshoot physical servers. • Manage firmware, BIOS, drivers, hardware patching, remote management interfaces, and component replacement. • Perform rack-level activities including server installation, cabling, power connectivity, and hardware replacement. • Work with PDUs and manage, monitor, and plan data center power consumption. • Coordinate with data center teams, vendors, and providers for installations, maintenance, infrastructure changes, and hardware support. • Provide operational support, root cause analysis, preventative actions, production incident response, and service restoration. • Collaborate with networking, storage, security, application, infrastructure, and data center teams. • Support security audits and ensure privileged access and administrative permissions meet security requirements. • Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, infrastructure records, and troubleshooting guides.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills. • Experience with Linux patch and package management. • Experience with backup and recovery operations. • Bash and Python scripting and automation. • Linux security and system hardening. • Experience administering KVM and VMware ESXi virtualization environments. • Virtual machine provisioning and troubleshooting. • Physical server administration. • Experience with Dell and HPE enterprise servers. • Hardware troubleshooting and component replacement. • Experience working in data center environments. • Preferred knowledge of configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible. • Preferred knowledge of infrastructure monitoring and alerting systems. • Preferred knowledge of centralized logging and log analysis. • Preferred knowledge of enterprise backup solutions. • Preferred knowledge of SAN/NAS and enterprise storage concepts. • Preferred knowledge of Linux networking and firewall configuration. • Preferred knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VLAN, and network troubleshooting. • Preferred knowledge of VMware vCenter. • Preferred knowledge of high-availability and clustering concepts. • Preferred knowledge of IT-based incident, problem, and change management processes.
