📋 Description

• Build and run an observability-as-a-service platform balancing performance and cost • Develop self-service golden paths for developer instrumentation • Maintain reliable collection, storage, querying, and alerting systems at scale • Ensure the observability platform can detect its own failures • Review the current platform and propose improved solutions • Own the observability stack end to end • Evolve Kubernetes-based infrastructure • Build abstractions enabling teams to manage their own observability • Set standards and guidelines through RFCs • Pair on designs, review proposals, mentor engineers, and serve as a technical reference • Write tools and automation in Go, Ruby, or Python • Support platform stability, performance, cost efficiency, and evolution

🎯 Requirements

• Prior experience in AWS, Kubernetes, Software Engineering, and Observability Practices with open source solutions is mandatory • Experience building and running observability at scale across metrics, logs, and traces • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes and AWS, or GCP or Azure, including networking and data-transfer costs • Excellent communication skills in English and Portuguese • Deep, hands-on expertise with open source observability tools such as Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, Loki, or Tempo • Experience with OpenTelemetry collection and instrumentation • Specialist expertise in high-cardinality data, retention and storage, query performance, and observability-platform reliability • Experience building products for other engineers, with attention to adoption, ownership, and developer experience • Strong software engineering skills and ability to write code for tools and automation • Fluent spoken and written English and Portuguese • Bonus: cost optimization for high-volume telemetry (FinOps) • Bonus: internal tools, CLIs, Kubernetes operators, or Crossplane • Bonus: service mesh knowledge such as Istio or Linkerd • Bonus: RFCs and technical leadership without direct reports • Bonus: CNCF certifications such as CKA, CKS, CKAD, PCA, or OTCA
