📋 Description

• Frame ambiguous customer problems and determine whether machine learning is the appropriate solution • Learn and model customer operational domains, including routes, crews, and service histories • Build required data and features in Snowflake and dbt • Decide how predictions reach customers so they understand, trust, and act on them • Report realised impact to Product and the business using measurable outcomes • Define offline and online evaluation for model quality, drift, and reliability • Design A/B tests or causal analyses to prove improvements in customer outcomes • Deploy, test, version, monitor, and detect drift in models • Partner with Product Managers and Software Engineers to embed ML in product workflows • Set direction and targets for coding-agent-assisted development, critically review outputs, and build verification harnesses, backtests, evaluation scaffolding, and data checks

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in applied data science, ML engineering, or data engineering that included owning models in production • At least one model built and shipped into a real product • Strong Python and applied ML libraries for tabular problems, including scikit-learn, XGBoost or LightGBM, statsmodels or Prophet • Solid SQL expertise • Depth in supervised learning, forecasting, ranking, recommendation, or optimisation • Experience modelling messy operational data • Experience with dbt and Snowflake modelling, feature pipelines, deployment, monitoring, and drift detection • Experience with AWS • Experience quantifying business impact of a shipped model, including adoption, outcome, or ROI • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to product, engineering, and non-technical business stakeholders • Applicants must currently have the legal right to work in the UK • B2B SaaS experience is a strong plus • Experience with coding agents, decision intelligence, forecasting, customer behaviour modelling, workforce/route optimisation, operational intelligence products, senior or lead technical direction, or LLM/agentic workflows are bonus qualifications
