• Lead the overall management and direction of the Project Management team within a therapeutic group • Ensure successful conduct of assigned projects • Recruit, train, develop, and conduct performance reviews for personnel • Support strategy and acquisition of new business with business and senior management • Develop and maintain effective client and sponsor relationships • Oversee departmental project financial performance and assess financial progress of assigned projects • Oversee development, implementation, and adherence to project plans and performance indicators • Conduct budget reviews and provide financial analysis support • Review and approve strategy, content, and costing of new business proposals • Identify resource needs for new projects • Meet resource management and utilization targets • Potentially lead sub-therapeutic groups and oversee their management and financial performance • Conduct project and sponsor relationship reviews to ensure delivery to procedures, timelines, budgets, and sponsor satisfaction • Facilitate resolution of sponsor relationship issues • Present capabilities and attend bid presentations • Ensure project deliverables meet sponsor and Worldwide Clinical Trials expectations • Participate in company initiatives as directed by VPPM • Perform other duties assigned by management
• University/college degree (life science preferred) or certification in a related allied health profession from an appropriately accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Minimum of twelve (12) years of global clinical pharmaceutical industry experience • Minimum of 8 years demonstrated skills and competency in clinical project management tasks and management of staff • Ability to lead and line manage staff in a global environment • Ability to inspire effective teamwork and motivate personnel within a matrix system • Experience managing global drug development programs • Ability to negotiate with clients professionally • Available for domestic and international travel, including overnight stays • Valid passport • Ability to drive and have a valid driver’s license • Fluent in local office language and English, written and verbal • Broad knowledge of drug development processes and client needs • Excellent leadership skills • Financial analytical skills • Planning and organizational skills • Problem-solving and decision-making skills • Effective written and oral communication in English • Interpersonal skills • Understanding of clinical research principles and processes • Delegation and prioritization skills • Cross-cultural awareness and adaptability • Marketing and negotiation skills • Experience creating and implementing new processes • Good computer skills
