📋 Description

• Serve as the data science lead for Zillow’s Rentals Shopping pillar • Drive the long-term data strategy using analysis of consumer behavior and market dynamics • Identify high-impact growth opportunities and inform the product roadmap • Elevate statistical rigor, modeling, and experimentation practices across Rentals • Partner with product, engineering, and design leaders to translate analysis into product and business strategies • Lead analytical and modeling work involving rental search relevance, ranking, personalization, and marketplace efficiency • Design and guide A/B tests and experimentation frameworks • Apply modern AI, including LLMs and agentic workflows, to improve data science velocity, model quality, and user-facing solutions • Coach and mentor data scientists • Influence how renters search, evaluate, and connect with rental homes and support growth of Zillow’s Rentals business

🎯 Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master’s degree in a quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience • Typically 8+ years of experience in quantitative analysis, advanced modeling, and experimentation at scale in consumer-facing technology environments • Expert proficiency in SQL and Python • Experience with statistical modeling, including causal inference and time series • Experience working in big data environments such as Databricks or Snowflake • Proven track record of shaping long-term product roadmaps and driving business outcomes through data-driven insights • Ability to influence senior cross-functional leaders and produce executive-ready recommendations and action plans • Ability to lead with significant autonomy and drive execution across partners
