Beschreibung

• Develop and manage research addressing generator degradation, failure mechanisms, operating risks, maintenance challenges, emerging technologies, and industry research gaps • Translate member needs and industry operating experience into generator research projects, technical guidance, tools, reports, webcasts, workshops, and other practical resources • Develop relationships and coordinate technical activities with generator owners, utilities, manufacturers, service providers, consultants, laboratories, universities, and research organizations • Support member inquiries involving generator operation, testing, maintenance, condition assessment, abnormal findings, and equipment reliability • Organize and lead technical sessions at EPRI-sponsored generator workshops, user-group meetings, webcasts, and industry events • Maintain familiarity with progress and problems in assigned technical areas • Provide assistance to EPRI sales staff in Member Services and EPRI International • Communicate strategies and results through guidelines, reports, meetings, webcasts, workshops, and conferences • Provide oversight of project teams to ensure technical and financial milestones are met • Support planning and execution of complex project work to meet member/client objectives; prepare and present research reports • Manage small or medium projects, including budgets and resources • Lead proposal efforts and new promotional work • Develop research or services opportunities that solve customer problems and deliver actionable insights to EPRI members • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff

🎯 Anforderungen

• Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience required • Knowledge of large rotating electrical machines, including generator design, manufacture, operation, inspection, testing, maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and life assessment • Working knowledge of excitation systems, automatic voltage regulators, generator protection, diagnostic testing, online monitoring, and condition-based maintenance • Understanding of generator auxiliary systems, including hydrogen cooling, seal oil, stator water cooling, lubrication, bearings, bushings, and electrical and mechanical monitoring systems • Ability to evaluate interactions among the generator, excitation system, auxiliary systems, prime mover, and electrical grid • Ability to work independently on technical activities without direct supervision • Ability to communicate strategies and results clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing • Ability to coordinate work activities across programs • Ability to organize external and interdepartmental activities within schedule and budget • Ability to manage small or medium projects, including budgets and resources, without direct people management responsibilities • Ability to influence project teams in engineering aspects of technical work • Ability to develop relationships with technical advisors, generator owners, utilities, manufacturers, service providers, consultants, laboratories, universities, and research organizations • Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff
