Beschreibung

• Support the advisory team with day-to-day federal financial management operations • Provide technical accounting and financial reporting advisory support to a federal client • Research and analyze technical and general ledger accounting • Prepare federal financial statements and notes • Interpret and develop financial management regulatory and accounting guidance and procedural documents • Verify accounting functions and transactions, including fund balance with Treasury, accounts receivable, obligations, accrued expenditures, disbursements, appropriation refunds, reimbursable orders, earnings, collections, eliminations, and journal vouchers • Prepare and review source documents for accuracy, validity, expenditure limitation, and correct accounting data • Balance and maintain subsidiary ledgers • Perform reconciliations of unliquidated contractual obligations, fund balance with Treasury, accounts receivable, unfilled customer orders, and other USSGL accounts • Develop point papers, briefing materials, and graphical presentations • Deliver formal oral presentations to government personnel at all levels • Educate and inform management about financial and operational service delivery alternatives • Research and implement best practices to remediate audit findings and internal control deficiencies • Provide technical direction and guidance to lower-level personnel • Recommend improved operational and transactional business processes

🎯 Anforderungen

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust; approved adjudication required prior to onboarding • Bachelor's Degree; four years of additional professional experience in lieu of Bachelor's • Four years of experience in accounting/financial management • Recognized as an expert in the specific field(s) • Ability to conduct studies, analyze findings, and make recommendations using qualitative and quantitative analytical techniques • Knowledge of mission, organization, work processes, and administrative support relationships • Experience with management improvement, productivity improvement, management controls, and long-range planning • Ability to develop guidance, advise on reorganizations or realignment of functions, and develop manuals and directives • CPA or other federal financial management/accounting certification is nice to have • Experience working directly with DHS is nice to have • Willingness to learn and participate in business development activities and internal firm objectives is nice to have
