• Monitor assigned shared mailboxes and related docket requests and docket them promptly according to firm guidelines using IP Business docketing software • Oversee accurate entry and date calculation for docket entries • Assist the Senior IP Docketing Manager with training Central Docketing team members • Review submitted documents to identify and docket all deadlines • Review USPTO and foreign filings and verify accuracy through agency websites • De-docket completed deadlines and resolve discrepancies • Maintain accurate timekeeper assignments for matters • Create, review, schedule, and distribute advanced docket reports for patent and trademark cases • Respond to timekeeper and staff requests regarding docketed dates and foreign and domestic agency rules and regulations • Collaborate with Docketing, Risk, IP PSC, and firm leadership to improve docketing practices, policies, and processes • Process abandoned and transferred matters and assist with onboarding incoming portfolios • Oversee quality assurance review for patent and trademark filings • Open new matters and enter records into PattsyWave for foreign and domestic patent, trademark, and copyright cases • Review IP prosecution correspondence and enter due dates from incoming faxes and emails • Remain current with developments, procedures, and regulations in U.S. and foreign filing entities • Assist with special projects and perform other assigned duties
• 2-year degree or Paralegal Certificate required • 10+ years of IP docketing experience • Specific proficiency with IP docketing software such as PattsyWave, Foundation IP, or CPi • Advanced knowledge of U.S. and foreign patent and trademark prosecution procedures, statutory and filing deadlines, and IP business workflows • Working knowledge of Maintenance Fee-Annuity-Renewal processes for patent and trademark modules • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and document management systems such as NetDocs • Ability to prepare, export, edit, filter, sort, search, and reformat large spreadsheets in Excel • Ability to remain current with USPTO, PCT, Madrid Protocol, and foreign IP rules and practices • Excellent attention to detail, analytical abilities, research skills, and resourcefulness • Ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands in a fast-paced environment • Cover letter and resume required • Principal applicants only
