Beschreibung

• Provide the highest-level customer experience through processing import shipments • Process commercial cargo and some contractor cargo • Rate quotes and make decisions regarding vendors, invoice amounts, and profit margins • Create SOPs and coordinate, execute, and track domestic and international shipments • Prioritize, schedule, and route shipments throughout the U.S., including spot bidding and GFM knowledge for government clients when applicable • Oversee shipment lifecycle management, operational data accuracy, exception handling, issue resolution, and decision-making • Schedule pickups and deliveries and book carrier space • Negotiate rates with trucking companies, carriers, and cartage agents • Complete required documentation and prepare client quotations • Track and trace freight, provide ETAs, and verify piece counts • Gather proof of delivery and enter it into the operating system • Request and enter vendor costs and prepare invoices within ICAT policy timelines • Maintain accurate TMS information, including tracking, service, and vendor notes • Ensure industry and ICAT compliance requirements are met • Select vendors, establish pricing, and determine shipment execution strategies independently • Evaluate operational and financial variables affecting cost, service, transit time, customer requirements, and business outcomes • Design, implement, and refine SOPs and workflows to improve efficiency, scalability, and margins • Manage shipment-level financial performance, cost control, pricing accuracy, and margin optimization • Collaborate with management and the team on short- and long-term goals • Assist Key Account Managers and station leadership with customer and vendor relationships • Join sales calls with key accounts • Negotiate vendor rates and handle discrepancies and service issues • Participate in team meetings and contribute to team growth and development • Lead through actions, communication, and mentoring • May work after hours on call as determined by management • Perform other duties as assigned • Work indoors in an office setting

🎯 Anforderungen

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience • 4+ years of transportation and/or freight forwarding experience • Working knowledge of spot quotes and routing LTL, TL, and expedited ground services • Expertise in NMFC and density rating • Hands-on ability with rating and routing freight • Industry experience with spot quotes, partial TL, and volume LTL • Understanding of major carriers serving Canada and Mexico • Proven track record of building relationships and gaining credibility with customers and vendors • Advanced knowledge of operating government freight • Knowledge of FMC, IMCO, ITA, TSA, C-TPAT, HAZMAT, and US Customs Border Protection (CBP) • Functional knowledge of international regulations and compliance procedures in air/ocean freight • Experience asking for spot rates with trucking companies, carriers, and overseas partners • Knowledge of international and domestic geography, including countries and major cities • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office products • Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate superior time management • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work setting with strong attention to detail • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills in a logistics environment • Ability to work in a time-sensitive environment • Highly motivated team player with an outgoing and positive work attitude • Ability to plan and effectively set priorities • Ability to adapt as priorities shift • Demonstrated ability to work in a client-centric environment • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with emphasis on listening • Understanding and responsiveness to urgent situations • Consistent follow-up and follow-through • Credibility and high personal integrity • Adaptability to ICAT’s core values • Ability to use close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus • Clear, understandable oral communication ability • Ability to push, pull, lift, carry, or maneuver up to 20 pounds • Ability to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally stoop, climb, or squat
