Beschreibung

• Own end-to-end strategic sourcing for an assigned portfolio of direct-material commodities, including supplier selection, RFQ, award, and ongoing commercial management • Lead commercial negotiations covering price, tooling/NRE, manufacturing value-add, payment terms, and Master Purchase Agreements • Build and execute supply-continuity strategies, including dual-sourcing, alternate-source qualification, buffer/inventory plans, and risk mitigation • Drive New Product Introduction sourcing with Engineering and Product to meet cost and availability goals • Establish and maintain supplier chessboard/JDM strategies • Own quarter-over-quarter cost locks and PPV reduction, maintaining commodity cost models and partnering with Finance and Planning on forecasting • Manage supplier performance for quality, delivery, cost, and innovation through business reviews and escalations • Introduce AI and analytics into procurement for spend, should-cost, and supplier-risk management • Partner with Legal, Operations Engineering, and Planning on contracting, IP, disputes, transitions, and allocations • Mentor analysts and supply managers and scale sourcing processes and decision frameworks • Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles • Report to the Head of Production Procurement and collaborate with Engineering, Product, Finance, and Planning • Represent Samsara with strategic suppliers and contract manufacturers globally, including regular engagement with partners in Asia

🎯 Anforderungen

• 8+ years in strategic sourcing, procurement, or global supply management • Direct commodity ownership and commercial negotiation of multi-million-dollar spend • Experience sourcing hardware/electro-mechanical components such as cables, connectors, PCB/PCBA, sensors, batteries, memory, or semiconductors • Proven NPI sourcing experience from early supplier engagement through production launch • Strong should-cost and cost-modeling capability • Experience managing global suppliers and contract/joint-design manufacturers, including partners in Asia • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to influence senior cross-functional stakeholders • Willingness to travel internationally, including to supplier sites in Asia, up to approximately 25% of the time • Depth in one or more core commodities preferred • Experience with dual-source frameworks, locked-markup or directed-buy structures, and strategic inventory/buffer programs preferred • People-leadership experience preferred • Familiarity with ERP/NetSuite, cost databases, and data-driven sourcing analytics preferred • Hands-on experience applying AI and advanced analytics in procurement preferred
