Beschreibung

• Lead the definition, design, architecture, development, and delivery of Slate’s Commerce software across multiple teams • Build and develop a high-performing engineering organization by hiring and growing engineers, managers, and technical leaders • Provide direction, coaching, and career development • Set technical strategy and drive Commerce decision-making • Balance customer experience, business priorities, engineering velocity, and long-term technical excellence • Simplify complex technical and business problems through innovation, creativity, and judgment • Collaborate with UX and Product leaders to create customer-focused solutions • Drive alignment across engineering and business teams • Make difficult technical and organizational decisions • Evaluate the business impact and consequences of technical decisions • Establish and maintain engineering quality, reliability, performance, and operational excellence • Plan and manage organizational priorities, resourcing, and delivery across multiple teams and roadmaps

🎯 Anforderungen

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience • 12+ years of experience building and delivering customer-facing software • 7+ years leading and developing software engineering teams, including leading multiple teams or managing managers • Strong technical leadership experience, including architecture, complex technical trade-offs, and driving engineering decisions across teams • Experience designing and operating reliable, scalable distributed systems, including web services, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and modern software development practices • Experience with modern ecommerce architectures and integrations across product catalog, cart/checkout, payments, order management, and fulfillment systems • Familiarity with marketplace or multi-vendor commerce models and their technical challenges • Ability to lead through ambiguity, simplify complex problems, and deliver high-quality solutions in fast-paced environments • Experience partnering with Product, UX, and Program Management teams to deliver customer-driven software products • Experience building and scaling engineering teams, including hiring, developing leaders, and managing performance • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders at all levels
