Beschreibung

• Lead TD Bank’s engagement with state and local governments to advance business objectives and protect its interests and reputation • Monitor, analyze, and prioritize political, legislative, regulatory, and economic developments affecting TD Bank • Develop and execute government relations, advocacy, political, legislative, and regulatory strategies and programs • Build relationships and serve as TD Bank’s principal contact with executive, legislative, and regulatory officials • Provide advisory services to executives and business segment leaders • Translate emerging policy issues into actionable guidance for leaders • Coordinate engagement across business lines and corporate functions • Educate public officials and staff and participate in industry lobbying activities • Develop grassroots advocacy programs leveraging TD Bank executives and employees • Coordinate regional presidents, Government Relations, Communications, and other corporate functions to achieve policy objectives • Recommend policy positions to the Head of Government Relations and other executives • Elevate TD Bank’s political and economic profile with public officials through meetings and events • Coordinate with trade associations to align their policy positions with TD Bank’s objectives • Support development and growth of TD Bank’s coordinated political giving program • Lead projects with significant scope, strategic impact, and complexity • Report to the Head of State and Local Government Relations and support the Southeast Market

🎯 Anforderungen

• Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required • 7+ years of government relations experience with a major multinational organization, congressional staff, or as a senior public servant in a relevant business or government department or agency • Advanced working knowledge of governmental operations at Federal, State, and Local levels • Thorough understanding of U.S. congressional and Executive Branch policy-making processes and U.S. regulatory structure • Sophisticated understanding of the relationship between the legislative process and the U.S. political process • Ability to research and analyze issues related to governmental actions and proposals • Ability to communicate and work effectively with government officials at all levels • Organizational awareness and resourcefulness • High degree of personal integrity when managing sensitive information • Advanced knowledge of government relations disciplines, relationship management, banking industry, and internal customers • Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends • Knowledge of risk management environment, standards, and regulations • Ability to manage a budget within constraints • Ability to contribute to strategic direction and advise senior leadership • Ability to establish goals and objectives supporting the strategic plan • Advanced ability to lead, plan, implement, and evaluate programs/projects • Sound judgment and decision-making ability • Negotiation, problem-solving, communication, and influence skills • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams and functions • Willingness to learn the business and develop leadership skills in a fast-paced environment • Superior professional, confident, transparent, and concise verbal and written communication skills • Excellent judgment and relationship management skills • Occasional domestic travel; no international travel
