📋 Description

• Make day-to-day operational decisions within or for a small group or department • Work collaboratively with direct reports to solve operational problems and escalate challenges to senior management • Balance workload across the team • Work with clients to resolve concerns • Conduct hands-on training in tools and procedures • Work with the Head of Operations to set objectives for performance, income, SLA achievement and project delivery • Manage overall delivery of operational objectives • Facilitate and attend documented regular team meetings • Encourage proactive involvement from team members and update staff on relevant issues • Review team delivery against objectives • Hold regular one-to-ones with direct reports and review performance • Monitor and record staff skills, knowledge and abilities • Agree training needs and organise coaching and mentoring • Lead process and client change rollouts while maintaining quality and process consistency • Attend meetings with clients and relevant third parties • Act as Client Relationship Manager

🎯 Requirements

• Knowledge of DB pension schemes • A blend of operational and technical pensions experience • Line management experience, ideally managing a home-based team • MI and project reporting experience • Knowledge of pension administration and work management systems • Knowledge of different administration platforms, pension data, and its importance to scheme administration • Knowledge of how to effectively allocate incoming work • Demonstrable experience managing and motivating individuals to optimise performance • Commercial awareness of development, risk and return • Proven track record of successful implementation delivery and financial return • Ability to apply flexible thinking and thought leadership to encourage individual performance • Ability to apply leadership, motivation, capacity planning, prioritisation and planning disciplines • Ability to deliver through teams and delegate to individuals to achieve objectives • Ability to recruit, develop and motivate individuals to build a high-performance working team • Ability to provide constructive feedback to enhance team members’ skills • Ability to manage conflicting relationships or positions rationally and transparently
