📋 Description

• Develop secure, well-tested, performant features and improvements using Ruby and GraphQL • Work through complex requirements and legacy constraints while protecting system reliability • Contribute to backend services, APIs, data models, and business logic for repository management • Collaborate asynchronously and synchronously across functions and teams • Use AI agents for well-scoped work and critically review their output • Write maintainable code according to GitLab standards and apply code-review feedback • Monitor production health metrics and participate in Tier 2 on-call • Troubleshoot incidents, contribute to root-cause analysis, and improve observability and resiliency • Share knowledge through code reviews, technical documentation, and collaboration

🎯 Requirements

• Professional experience building backend web applications, services, or APIs • Experience using Ruby and GraphQL, or ability to learn them • Understanding of relational databases, SQL, data modeling, caching, background processing, and backend performance practices • Experience contributing to policy, permissions, or rules-based web application features • Experience writing backend unit and integration tests • Familiarity with Git and collaborative code review processes • Experience using AI coding tools or agents and reviewing their output • Clear written and spoken English communication skills • Ability to manage priorities, work through ambiguity, take ownership, and seek guidance • Must work effectively in a remote, asynchronous environment
