📋 Description

• Lead the design of significant components of a modern digital service platform, including automation, build, deployment and support • Work with engineering, testing, consulting, product management and security colleagues to build, test and deploy high-quality software • Employ appropriate modern technologies to maximise user and business benefit • Ensure alignment with industry standards and best practices • Support colleagues and facilitate an inclusive DevOps culture • Drive conversations and decisions to ensure services are scalable, secure, reliable and performant • Support services through live operation, ensuring availability, security and performance • Continuously improve production services • Proactively coach and mentor junior team members • Develop technology specialisms and shape career direction

🎯 Requirements

• Proven strong team skills, including working in a multi-disciplinary team • Good verbal and written communication skills, including communicating issues to technical and non-technical people • Significant expertise using multiple configuration management, infrastructure provisioning and automation tools • Fluency in at least one of: PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ruby, Go, Groovy • Demonstrable experience designing, building, testing, automating, monitoring and supporting significant components within a modern digital service platform in production environments • Experience producing scalable, resilient, efficient, secure and cost-effective designs that minimise lock-in • Experience contributing to technical decisions and direction, including architecture, estimation, product planning, user story/requirement creation and advocating MVP • Experience implementing modern Continuous Delivery processes for releasing software to production • Experience applying industry best practices and patterns across infrastructure and application components, including security, elasticity and performance • Experience using AWS public cloud platforms to solve business problems • Experience applying configuration management, infrastructure provisioning and container orchestration tooling • Experience using modern version control systems including Git • Experience debugging complex problems across multiple servers, services and tools • Active Security Clearance required • Third level or equivalent qualification in a related discipline (desirable) • Mid-level certification with a public cloud provider, Azure (desirable) • Experience with cloud-native SaaS and PaaS technologies (desirable) • Experience managing, mentoring and coaching junior staff (desirable)
