📋 Description

• Lead the design of significant components of a modern digital service platform, including automation, build, deployment and support • Work with engineering, testing, consulting, product management and security colleagues to build, test and deploy high-quality software • Select and apply appropriate technologies aligned with industry standards and best practices • Support an inclusive DevOps culture • Drive technical conversations and decisions to ensure services are scalable, secure, reliable and performant • Support services through live operation and continuously improve availability, security and performance • Coach and mentor junior team members • Develop specialisms and explore career directions through exposure to new technologies

🎯 Requirements

• Proven strong team skills, including working in a multi-disciplinary team • Good verbal and written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to technical and non-technical people • Significant expertise using multiple configuration management, infrastructure provisioning and automation tools • Fluency in at least one of: Powershell, Bash, Python, Ruby, Go, Groovy • Experience designing, building, testing, automating, monitoring and supporting significant components of modern digital service platforms in production environments • Experience producing scalable, resilient, efficient, secure, cost-effective designs that minimise lock-in • Experience contributing to technical decisions and direction, including architecture, estimation, product planning, user story/requirement creation and advocating MVP • Experience implementing modern Continuous Delivery processes for production releases • Experience applying industry best practices and patterns across infrastructure and application components, including security, elasticity and performance • Experience using AWS public cloud platforms to solve business problems • Experience using configuration management, infrastructure provisioning and container orchestration tooling • Experience using modern version control systems including Git • Experience debugging complex problems across multiple servers, services and tools • Active Security Clearance required • Third level or equivalent qualification in a related discipline is desirable • Mid-level certification with a public cloud provider (Azure) is desirable • Experience with cloud-native SaaS and PaaS technologies is desirable • Experience managing, mentoring and coaching junior staff is desirable
