📋 Description

• Carry out electrical and mechanical installation, commissioning, inspection, testing, servicing and repair of Port Solutions products, including harbour cranes and straddle carriers • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment malfunctions, drive technologies and PLCs in an industrial environment • Consult with customers on repair and safety-related issues • Produce accurate and descriptive problem reports • Complete inspection and examination documentation as appropriate • Travel to ports and terminals around the UK coast • Maintain and repair lifting equipment and automation solutions within ports, harbours and terminals

🎯 Requirements

• Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 / HNC in electrical or mechanical engineering, with practical competence in both • Working knowledge of hydraulics • Experience of Siemens S7 desirable • Good attention to detail • Organised and self-motivated • Computer proficient, including basic networking and component diagnostics • Familiar with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) • Full UK driving licence • Ability to work at height • Able to spend periods of time away from home, up to two weeks at a time • Ideally based in northern England, preferably Newcastle, Gateshead or Teesside
