📋 Description

• Lead engineering efforts to launch and sustain Reap’s card programs across new markets • Own end-to-end engineering delivery for market entry, including regulatory integration and processor configuration • Coordinate dependencies across Treasury, Onboarding, Compliance, Infrastructure, Data Warehouse, and other teams • Guide engineering strategy and participate in technical design • Own engineering workstreams for local Visa/Mastercard rules, BIN sponsor obligations, open banking requirements, and regional regulatory frameworks • Integrate local vendors, issuer processors, and BIN sponsor systems • Translate regulatory requirements into scoped engineering deliverables with Product, Compliance, and Legal • Drive sequenced delivery across Card Platform, Treasury/Ledger, Onboarding/KYC-KYB, Regulatory Reporting, Chargeback/Disputes, Infrastructure, Data Warehouse, and Security Governance • Own cross-team engineering plans, surface blockers, manage timelines, and align stakeholders • Establish on-call runbooks, incident response playbooks, and SLAs for live markets • Own post-launch monitoring, alerting, incident management, and engineering stability • Drive continuous improvement based on authorization failures, chargebacks, reconciliation issues, and SLA breaches • Contribute to core card platform development and identify infrastructure improvements • Implement extensible, reusable market-specific solutions while balancing delivery velocity and long-term platform health

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience • 2+ years in a technical leadership or management role • Proven experience building and operating systems in payments, risk/fraud systems, card infrastructure, financial reconciliation, or API platforms • Ability to lead cross-functional engineering initiatives and drive architectural decisions • Strong systems thinking and ability to design fault-tolerant, observable, and scalable services • High standards for code quality, reliability, and peer review • Clear communication and respectful challenge of ideas • Experience with TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, and AWS valued; strong engineering fundamentals preferred over a specific toolset • Experience with high-availability financial systems with real-time transaction processing preferred • Experience with Visa and Mastercard card networks and card lifecycle management preferred • Exposure to 3DS, tokenization, digital wallets, and PCI compliance preferred • Experience leading teams in high-growth, fast-paced environments preferred • Familiarity with NewRelic, Datadog, OpenTelemetry, and CI/CD automation preferred • Experience launching card programs in new geographies preferred • Familiarity with financial regulations across multiple jurisdictions preferred • Track record of cross-functional delivery across teams with shared dependencies preferred • AI/LLM-assisted development familiarity preferred
