Windracers is an aerospace company that engineers, manufactures and operates ULTRA, a dual-use heavy-lift autonomous fixed-wing drone system designed to complete missions in demanding and contested environments. ULTRA offers long-range (≈2,000 km), long-endurance (≈15 hours) capability, a large cargo bay (≈700 L) and >150–200 kg payload capacity, supporting point-to-point cargo, precision parachute drops, aerial survey/reconnaissance and defence use cases. Windracers also develops proprietary autopilot and mission-control software with a distributed, zero-single-point-of-failure architecture and provides operational and support services, deploying ULTRA as a service for defence, air-cargo, humanitarian and research customers.

📋 Description

• Own FP&A and strategic finance across the business • Shape and develop a scalable FP&A function • Create and maintain a robust source of truth for historic performance drivers, forecasts, company KPIs and business drivers • Drive financial budgeting and performance analysis • Support strategic initiatives across all functions and help drive decision-making through planning, insight and business partnering • Build scalable FP&A processes and systems, including technology stack, automation and AI • Own the annual budgeting and planning process • Lead reforecasting and long-range planning • Own cash flow forecasting, working capital planning and liquidity management • Deliver performance and KPI reporting and variance analysis • Act as strategic finance partner to the CFO and leadership team • Drive cross-functional strategic projects across engineering, operations, supply chain and commercial teams • Prepare board and investor reporting materials • Support fundraising activities, investor requests and due diligence processes • Establish finance as a trusted partner throughout the organisation • Initially operate as an individual contributor with expected evolution into a leadership position

🎯 Requirements

• 5-10+ years of experience across FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting or similar analytical roles • Multiple years of company experience are required • Experience in a high-growth technology business, ideally deeptech, robotics, aerospace, autonomous systems, advanced manufacturing or related sectors • Strong understanding of manufacturing economics, working capital management, inventory dynamics and cash flow requirements • Experience operating in businesses with significant cash and working capital requirements • Experience supporting a scale-up environment with changing priorities and significant growth ambitions • Strong financial modelling skills and advanced Excel capability • Hands-on experience with FP&A tech stack, ideally including selection and implementation of tools and systems • Strong commercial mindset with ability to influence senior stakeholders • Highly analytical and intellectually curious • Commercial rather than purely financial • Proactive, driven and self-directed with strong sense of ownership • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment • Strong communicator who can engage equally with investors, engineers and senior executives • Low ego, hands-on and willing to roll up their sleeves • Excited by technology, innovation and building businesses
