📋 Description

• Provide competent health and safety advice to employees, managers and contractors • Support the development, implementation and continual improvement of health and safety systems, procedures and controls • Conduct site inspections, audits and behavioural observations to identify hazards and drive improvements • Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, identifying root causes and monitoring corrective actions • Produce and review risk assessments and safe systems of work • Support the maintenance of ISO 45001 and other management system requirements • Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings and safety communications • Assist with occupational health and wellbeing initiatives • Contribute to safety performance reporting, KPI tracking and trend analysis • Engage with operational teams and subcontractors to promote safe working practices • Work closely with the Health & Safety Manager across SMT businesses

🎯 Requirements

• NEBOSH General Certificate • Working towards a Health & Safety Diploma • IOSH Technical Member working towards Certified Membership • Knowledge of ISO 45001 management systems • Full UK Driving Licence • Strong Microsoft Office skills • Internal Auditor qualification or experience is desirable • Proactive, confident and approachable • Strong communication and relationship-building skills • Excellent organisational and time-management abilities • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • High ethical standards and professionalism • Practical, hands-on approach with a passion for continual improvement
