📋 Description

• Monitor and rapidly respond to incoming journalist inquiries via SciLine’s expert matching service • Follow the service’s scope, policies, and procedures • Coordinate with scientist-facing expert matching team members to follow up on and resolve inquiries • Enter journalist inquiry data into SciLine’s Salesforce database • Communicate and coordinate with the SciLine inbox team across different shifts • Monitor and raise irregular or challenging journalist correspondence for the expert matching team • Report to SciLine’s senior scientific outreach manager

🎯 Requirements

• Some experience in journalism or media relations, or demonstrated familiarity with the lexicon and professional norms of the journalism industry • Ability to communicate quickly, succinctly, and clearly • Effective decision-making skills, especially on tight timelines • Attention to detail • Experience with, interest in, or enthusiasm about science is a major plus • Must be located in or willing to relocate to an approved state where AAAS has a business presence • No visa sponsorship is available • Employment eligibility is confirmed through E-Verify for newly hired employees • Resume and cover letter required
