📋 Description

• Serve as an experienced individual contributor within a team • Support the team in meeting scope, schedule, and delivery requirements with minimal oversight • Contribute to long-term program goals and development of the program’s research strategy • Serve as the discipline’s primary lead when working with stakeholders • Build relationships with team members, government and company stakeholders, and program management • Lead cross-functional efforts • Navigate ambiguous requirements and environments to support successful delivery • Plan, conduct, analyze, and share research • Prioritize research projects based on team needs, goals, and research capacity • Plan and facilitate collaboration between researchers, product team members, and stakeholders • Influence and communicate the research strategy for the program • Coach and mentor researchers • Participate in evaluating candidate homework assignments and panel interviews • Identify risks, communicate them to leadership, and provide mitigation recommendations • Oversee research scope and development of recommendations • Communicate research results to internal and external stakeholders • Contribute to planning, execution, and synthesis of research • Uphold and interpret VA.gov information architecture and design component standards • Help product teams apply IA standards and determine when to engage the Content & Information Architecture team • Review IA structures, navigation elements, and content hierarchy • Identify and document structural issues and their severity • Participate in governance checkpoints and provide an IA perspective on product readiness • Surface systemic IA issues and contribute to the standards feedback loop • Contribute to Governance initiatives, research on Collaboration Cycle effectiveness, sprint-based process improvements, and documentation updates

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience • Relevant years of experience may be substituted for education • Prior experience mentoring junior-level team members • Extensive experience with research principles, methodologies, and relevant technologies • Strong understanding of adjacent disciplines and how research work impacts product, program, and business goals
