📋 Description

• Build strong relationships with team members, government and company stakeholders, and program management • Lead cross-functional efforts with team members and team leads • Navigate ambiguous requirements and environments to support successful delivery • Plan, conduct, analyze, and share research based on team questions, needs, and goals • Prioritize research projects based on team needs, goals, and research capacity • Plan and facilitate collaboration between researchers, product team members, and stakeholders • Influence and communicate the research strategy for the program • Coach and mentor researchers, providing actionable feedback that supports growth within the research discipline • Participate in evaluating candidate homework assignments and panel interviews • Identify risks, communicate them to leadership, and provide recommendations to mitigate identified risks • Oversee research scope and development of recommendations, communicating results to internal and external stakeholders • Contribute to the planning, execution, and synthesis of research • Uphold and interpret VA.gov information architecture and design component standards • Help product teams apply IA standards and determine when to engage the Content & Information Architecture team • Review IA structures, navigation elements, and content hierarchy for clarity, predictability, usability, and alignment with documented decisions • Identify and document structural issues and their severity • Participate in governance checkpoints and assess product readiness and structural coherence • Surface systemic IA issues and contribute to governance initiatives, research, process improvements, documentation, and guidance materials

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience • Relevant years of experience may be substituted for education • Prior experience mentoring junior-level team members • Extensive experience with research principles, methodologies, and relevant technologies • Strong understanding of adjacent disciplines and how research work impacts product, program, and business goals
