📋 Description

• Set the technical direction for AI engineering across the team, including agent architecture patterns, evaluation methodology, deployment, and monitoring strategies • Design the AI platform layer, including shared agent frameworks, tool integrations, and evaluation infrastructure • Work directly with clients on complex engagements to identify problem domains and design AI capabilities for previously unautomated workflows • Make high-judgment decisions on AI production readiness, balancing speed and reliability • Drive the handoff from prototype to product with core engineering teams • Lead production quality for AI systems by designing observability, establishing SLOs, and building operational practices • Mentor and grow AI and full stack engineers • Shape product direction by translating client engagement insights into roadmap priorities

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience • Professional experience with Python • Deep experience building and operating AI/LLM-powered systems in production, including agent architectures, multi-model orchestration, and evaluation at scale • Track record of designing technical systems that other engineers build on • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar • Repeated experience taking products or capabilities from zero to one • Experience working directly with customers or external stakeholders to scope and deliver technical work • Strong judgment in ambiguous, high-stakes environments • Ability to lead technical direction without formal authority • Excellent communication skills • BS/MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience • Nice to have: experience designing multi-service AI platform architectures • Nice to have: experience with additional backend languages, especially Java • Nice to have: financial services domain knowledge • Nice to have: production observability and SaaS operational excellence at scale • Nice to have: developer experience or internal platform work
