📋 Description

• Lead, coach, and develop a 12-person accounting team • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes • Oversee accounting across Echelon's entities, including Canadian and UK companies • Oversee general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and core accounting activities • Maintain accounting policies and internal controls • Ensure appropriate application of U.S. GAAP • Oversee inventory and cost accounting, revenue recognition, and related reconciliations • Partner with finance and business leaders on cash flow, working capital, financial analysis, and operational decisions • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors • Identify and resolve accounting issues, reconciliation backlogs, and process gaps • Improve accounting systems, workflows, documentation, and automation • Communicate financial results, risks, and priorities to senior leadership

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA strongly preferred • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leader • Demonstrated success managing and developing an accounting team • Strong command of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls • Strong hands-on experience with NetSuite and QuickBooks • Comfort overseeing accounting across multiple entities and accounting systems • Experience with inventory-based businesses and multiple revenue streams • Excellent analytical skills and ability to identify problems, determine root causes, and implement practical solutions • Proven ability to manage competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy or accountability • Proficiency with AI tools, including Claude, and careful review of AI-assisted work for accuracy
