📋 Description

• Design, deliver, and optimise data platforms and solutions across projects • Deliver components of the data solution lifecycle • Ensure solutions meet scalability, security, resilience, performance, quality, and governance standards • Design data-driven architectures that deliver value and insight • Develop concepts through the solution lifecycle while considering scalability, optimisation, and cost • Oversee ingestion, transformation, modelling, and integration across external-facing projects • Gather client requirements with cross-functional data teams • Support Data Analysts and Data Scientists with feature engineering and big data analysis • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and technical teams to integrate data solutions into wider digital ecosystems • Apply data engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, CI/CD, and documentation • Maintain metadata, access controls, data lineage, PII protection, and regulatory compliance • Develop monitoring and alerting strategies to maintain availability, performance, and reliability • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, data solution, and analytical product issues • Explore cloud capabilities, data platforms, and modern data stack tools • Foster knowledge-sharing, standardisation, and collaborative team practices

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience • Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering; Python preferred, with Scala, Java, or C# beneficial • Strong SQL skills • Deep understanding of relational databases, non-relational stores, and data warehouse principles • Experience with data modelling methodologies, including dimensional modelling, star/snowflake schemas, and data vault • Experience designing and operating ETL/ELT pipelines • Experience with modern workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Functions • Professional experience delivering cloud-based data engineering solutions at scale • Ability to meet UK security clearance requirements • Strong client-facing, stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills
