📋 Description

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and respond to inquiries and concerns • Develop and maintain strong client relationships • Coordinate with multiple disciplines and lead the mechanical engineering team, including HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing • Design and oversee construction of mechanical systems for hyperscale data centers • Develop detailed specifications for pumps, fans, air handling units, and other mechanical equipment • Write internal and external reports based on findings • Ensure discipline plans meet project scope, schedule, budget, and overall team requirements • Stay current on codes and technologies for mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems • Analyze mechanical system performance and recommend improvements and upgrades • Provide technical support during construction, respond to RFIs, and address arising issues • Attend job site visits, project meetings, and commissioning activities as needed • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations • Evaluate and recommend technologies and equipment to improve performance and reduce operational costs • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate chiller systems with data center infrastructure • Analyze energy usage and identify optimization and cost-saving opportunities

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering plus ten (10) years of relevant experience in mechanical design and/or mechanical engineering, focused on data center infrastructure, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • Professional Engineer License (P.E.) is required • Extensive experience in mechanical engineering for data centers or other critical facilities • Strong knowledge of HVAC, piping, and fire suppression systems design and construction • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships • Ability to think creatively and identify opportunities to enhance the client experience • Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) and building information modeling (BIM) software • Experience with data center design and construction, including design criteria and industry standards • Ability to work remotely from a variety of locations in the U.S. where AECOM has an office • Occasional travel may be required for client meetings, project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, job site visits, or commissioning activities • In-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office is required as a condition of employment • Relocation is not available • Sponsorship is available
