📋 Description

• Develop and design heat rejection and HVAC systems tailored for data centers • Select air/water-side cooling systems, including fan wall units, CRAHs, chilled water systems, DX systems, CRAC units, in-row cooling, and containment solutions • Conduct internal and external CFD simulations to optimize airflow, identify hotspots, analyze transient periods, and evaluate campus-wide component interactions • Prepare or direct preparation of CFD models and analyze results to recommend design modifications • Coordinate design changes and resulting effects with other project trades • Design redundant and fault-tolerant HVAC systems, including backup cooling, automatic switchover, and monitoring systems • Perform heat load calculations and capacity planning based on IT equipment, power density, growth, and phased construction and operations • Perform HVAC loads for administrative and common facility sections • Implement energy-efficient HVAC strategies, including economizers, variable speed drives, energy recovery systems, and airflow optimization • Design filtration and air-quality monitoring systems to protect sensitive IT equipment • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate HVAC with electrical infrastructure, UPS, emergency power, fire suppression, and other critical systems • Work in a hands-on, client-facing role on high-profile data center projects for global clients

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment installation and operation • P.E. registration is required • Ability to work in the United States • Familiarity with data center, mission-critical, and technology-sector requirements • Knowledge of data center TER Standard Topology per Uptime Institute, TIA 942, and ANSI/BICSI 002 • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC engineering, or a related field is typically required as a preferred qualification • Master's degree or advanced coursework in HVAC systems or energy management preferred • HVAC-related certifications such as CEM, BEMP, or LEED accreditation advantageous
