📋 Description

• Develop and design heat rejection and HVAC systems tailored for data centers • Select air- and water-side cooling systems, including fan wall units, CRAHs, chilled water systems, DX systems, CRAC units, in-row cooling, and containment solutions • Conduct internal and external CFD simulations to optimize airflow, identify hotspots, assess transient periods, and evaluate campus-wide component interactions • Prepare or direct CFD models, analyze results, recommend design modifications, and coordinate changes with other project trades • Design redundant and fault-tolerant HVAC systems, including backup cooling, automatic switchover, and monitoring systems • Perform heat load calculations and capacity planning based on IT equipment, power density, anticipated growth, and project phasing • Perform HVAC loads for administrative and common facility areas • Implement energy-efficient HVAC strategies, including economizers, variable speed drives, energy recovery, and optimized airflow management • Design filtration systems and air-quality monitoring mechanisms to protect sensitive IT equipment • Coordinate heat rejection and HVAC systems with electrical infrastructure, UPS systems, emergency power, fire suppression, and other critical infrastructure • Work hands-on and client-facing with global AECOM teams on high-profile data center projects • Travel occasionally for client meetings, key project milestones, onsite collaboration sessions, and other business-critical activities

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • Experience in data center mechanical and electrical equipment installation and operation • P.E. registration is required • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC engineering, or a related field from an accredited university is typically required • Knowledge of data center TIER Standard Topology, Uptime Institute standards, TIA-942, and ANSI/BICSI 002 • Professional HVAC-related certifications such as CEM, BEMP, or LEED accreditation are advantageous • Eligible to work in the United States • Permanent residency sponsorship is available for current H-1B visa holders in the United States
