📋 Description

• Lead or co-lead sworn/public-safety portions of classification and compensation studies • Select peers for public-safety markets and design market surveys • Analyze rank structures, steps, specialty/incentive pay, and overtime patterns • Assess compression between sworn schedules and civilian plans • Draft sworn-section findings and recommendations for reports and council briefings • Support proposal technical content for mid-band municipal studies with multi-structure scopes

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years public-safety compensation, classification, or municipal HR work covering police and/or fire pay plans • Direct experience on at least one completed study or major pay-plan redesign involving sworn employees • Strong analytical and writing skills; ability to explain findings to non-HR leaders • Ability to cite concrete past government projects (agency, role, year) • Both police and fire experience (nice to have) • Paramedic/EMS schedules (nice to have) • Collective bargaining familiarity for analysis only, not labor negotiation (nice to have) • Southeast municipal experience (nice to have)
