• Communicate regularly with the manager regarding schedule, work scope, issues, and resource needs • Follow safety protocols, including PPE, LOTO practices, and hot work permitting • Travel to vendor shops to perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) on control panels and vendor-supplied equipment • Use electrical test equipment to perform I/O verification checks on discrete and analog control circuits • Determine root causes and provide corrective actions for continuity or function issues • Verify discrete and analog valve function • Configure, test, and tune valve actuators and positioners • Assist with setup, configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of plant servers, process networks, HMI graphics, PLCs, site internet service, VPN tunnels, and plant data historians • Update P&IDs, control panel drawings, schematics, and other drawings according to commissioning revision procedures • Provide technical support for mechanical and control system troubleshooting • Assist with plant performance testing • Oversee work performed by subcontracted vendors and commissioning personnel • Commission and start up renewable natural gas plants and landfill gas-to-energy power generation plants • Perform other duties as required
• Associate’s degree in a controls-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in instrumentation and controls commissioning • Demonstrated experience in natural gas or power generation projects • Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control systems, including PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and HMI • Proficiency in instrumentation and controls design software and tools • Loop check experience • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities • Effective communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead cross-functional teams • Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills • Experience with Rockwell Software “Studio5000” software is preferred • Proper and safe use of multimeters, loop calibrators, and HART communicators is preferred • Experience with plant HMI workstations to test and troubleshoot field equipment is preferred • Experience with PLC programming software to test and debug PLC code and I/O systems is preferred • Understanding of the safe use of basic hand and power tools • Ability to read and understand P&IDs, control panel schematics, and electrical one-line diagrams is preferred • Physical ability to bend, reach, climb, and lift 45 pounds without assistance • Ability to perform assigned activities in accordance with Ameresco standards and written procedures, in a timely manner, accurately, and with attention to detail • High level of competency with a laptop computer, Windows operating system, MS Word, MS Excel, and PDF editors such as BlueBeam • Experience with GE iFIX HMI software is preferred • Willingness to travel extensively, up to 75% or more • Ability to follow safety protocols, including PPE, LOTO practices, and hot work permitting
