📋 Description

• Embed with individual product teams to improve product management practices and accelerate adoption of Amgen’s Digital Product Operating Model • Serve as a hands-on player-coach to Digital Product Managers and cross-functional team members • Coach DPMs on problem definition, discovery, product strategy, outcome-based roadmaps, OKRs, KPIs, prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and value measurement • Temporarily perform product management responsibilities when no DPM is assigned, including shaping product direction, aligning stakeholders, defining outcomes, and supporting roadmap and prioritization decisions • Help teams shift from stakeholder-request and feature-based delivery toward empowered, outcome-driven product management • Partner with business, technology, product, analytics, design, data, engineering, and other stakeholders to strengthen product ways of working • Clarify roles, decision rights, operating rhythms, success measures, and expectations within DPOM • Identify capability gaps, adoption barriers, and recurring anti-patterns • Support discovery, validation, experience evaluation, and learning practices • Integrate technical feasibility, data and measurement requirements, dependencies, and AI opportunities and risks into product decisions • Execute Catalyst engagements, including assessment, planning, embedded coaching, adoption measurement, transition planning, and learning capture • Define and track engagement success measures, including DPM capability growth, team adoption, product maturity, and DPOM outcomes • Translate lessons into reusable examples, practices, templates, and playbook improvements • Build trusted relationships and influence without formal authority • Communicate product direction, adoption progress, risks, and decisions to team-level and senior stakeholders • Escalate major blockers, trade-offs, or alignment issues to the Director, Product Management Catalysts

🎯 Requirements

• Doctorate degree and 2 years of Digital Product, Product Management, Product Leadership, Digital Transformation, Technology Strategy, or related experience; or Master’s degree and 6 years; or Bachelor’s degree and 8 years; or Associate degree and 10 years; or high school diploma/GED and 12 years • Minimum of 2 years of experience directly managing people and/or leading teams, projects, programs, or directing resource allocation • 5+ years of progressive experience in digital product management preferred • Experience in product strategy, discovery, roadmapping, prioritization, delivery, and outcome measurement preferred • Ability to coach, mentor, or upskill product managers, product owners, business partners, or cross-functional team members • Strong product management skills, including problem definition, product discovery, roadmap development, OKRs, KPIs, prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and value realization • Experience working with cross-functional product teams across business, technology, design, data, and agile delivery • Ability to operate as a hands-on player-coach • Ability to shift teams from output-oriented delivery to outcome-oriented product management • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence without formal authority • Comfort operating in ambiguity, diagnosing team needs, and creating practical paths forward • Experience contributing to product playbooks, standards, templates, training, or operating model improvements preferred • Healthcare, biotechnology, regulated industry, high-tech, digital, consulting, or product-led organization experience preferred • Familiarity with AI-native product development, generative AI workflows, responsible AI principles, and AI’s role in product management preferred • Sponsorship for this role is not guaranteed
