• Serve as the customer service liaison between the company and customers • Resolve billing, shipment tracking, and other customer concerns • Build customer relationships • Process Customs and PGA entries for clearance of goods into the United States • Open files and enter notes, information, and document requests in corporate systems • Review commercial invoices and documentation for regulatory and carrier compliance • Convert and verify shipment weight, volume, and foreign currency • Send information and document requests to employees, suppliers, service providers, and U.S. government agencies • Communicate with offices, departments, and teams regarding customs brokerage issues • Ensure compliance with U.S. Government regulatory agencies including FDA, EPA, and USFWS • Coordinate shipping details with U.S. forwarders, steamship lines, airlines, and agents • Maintain communication with customers, carriers, and vendors • Coordinate shipments from airlines, ocean piers, and CFS locations to customer destinations • Coordinate pickups and invoice files • Stay current on regulations, laws, guidelines, and company requirements • Act as a resource to internal and external clients • Handle accounting processes accurately and promptly • Answer email and telephone calls promptly and professionally • Handle confidential information • Provide colleague instructions and recommend process improvements • Perform other assigned duties
• High school diploma/GED • 1+ year of previous customs Northern Border Brokerage experience • Experience with Microsoft Office Suites is preferred • Ability to work either 3:00 PM–11:00 PM or 4:00 PM–12:00 AM Eastern Standard Time • Accuracy and thoroughness in analytical work • Ability to multitask and establish priorities • Customer service and conflict-resolution skills • Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively • Ability to handle confidential information • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage large volumes of work • Commitment to A.N.
