• Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods across chemical processing operations • Support batch and continuous manufacturing processes, especially web handling, solids handling, and polymer processing unit operations • Maintain systems supporting consistent quality of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products • Provide technical support for manufacturing issues across chemical processing operations • Act as technical liaison between R&T, Technical Service, Marketing & Sales, and Manufacturing • Support process improvements, new product introductions, and scale-up activities • Monitor and improve plant efficiency, throughput, yield, and reliability to meet supply, quality, and cost objectives • Provide technical guidance to Site Process Engineers and plant teams on chemical unit operations, process troubleshooting, and equipment performance • Collaborate on capital and expense project engineering analyses, including design, equipment selection, vendor evaluation, cost estimates, and life-cycle cost analysis • Apply mass and energy balances, heat and momentum transfer, and reaction and separation fundamentals to process and equipment design • Support consistent application of Process Safety Management principles, including Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis, and process safety documentation • Lead or support Root Cause Analysis and CAPA development for process upsets, quality deviations, equipment failures, and safety incidents
• B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or a related discipline • 5+ years of engineering experience in a chemical or chemical-related manufacturing environment • Experience with general chemical processing operations, including both batch and continuous processes • Working knowledge of web handling, including paper machines, filament/fiber spinning and handling, polymer-related unit operations, pump systems, extrusion, and bulk material handling equipment • Experience working in or supporting PSM-regulated manufacturing facilities • Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization, from plant operations to corporate leadership • Experience participating in or leading Root Cause Analysis and Process Hazard Analysis activities • Familiarity with PLCs and distributed control systems such as Emerson DeltaV and Honeywell Experion (preferred) • Experience with process modeling or simulation tools (preferred) • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification (preferred) • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to support business needs
