📋 Description

• Lead the design and implementation of process solutions for food and beverage manufacturing operations • Design processes to achieve project goals • Define processing steps for products, waste/byproducts, and cleaning systems • Calculate equipment rates and create optimal food plant layouts • Prepare block and process flow diagrams • Perform process calculations and size and select equipment and components • Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and sanitary practices • Develop P&IDs, equipment specifications, installation specifications, equipment lists, and controls narratives • Coordinate 3D modeling with design • Coordinate third-party equipment engineering and process integration into plant infrastructure • Support procurement of equipment and installation packages • Identify suppliers and subcontractors and prepare technical bid-package documentation • Participate in bid-scope reviews, proposal analysis, design reviews, coordination meetings, submittal reviews, and factory acceptance testing • Support installation of process equipment and participate in subcontractor coordination meetings • Travel to sites, provide technical assistance, coordinate with field staff and subcontractors, resolve issues, review installations, and revise as-built drawings • Assist with commissioning documentation, system testing, functional testing, performance testing, and safety testing • Coordinate system handover with clients and stakeholders, providing documentation and operational staff training • Maintain current knowledge of food manufacturing trends, regulatory requirements, and industry-specific considerations • Collaborate with product development, marketing, engineering, architects, manufacturing, project management, and field staff • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Engineering degree in Chemical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or a related field • Minimum of 1-7 years of experience in food or beverage manufacturing systems • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills • Thorough understanding of the food industry, process systems, and plant operations • Familiarity with startup and commissioning processes and procedures for process systems • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Innovative thinking and ability to develop creative solutions • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines • Knowledge of industry regulations and standards, including safety, for food or beverage manufacturing systems • Flexibility to work in different environments and adapt to changing project requirements • Experience in calibration, startup, and commissioning of food or beverage process systems preferred • Knowledge of ingredients and their reactions to heating, cooling, mixing, blending, and pumping • Knowledge of process controls supporting recipe management and product repeatability • Knowledge of 3A, USDA, or FDA sanitation requirements and regulatory entities • Skilled in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, Procore, Bluebeam, Adobe, Power BI, and ACC preferred • Experience with process design and engineering in a design-build or EPC setting • Ability to travel regularly for site visits, project meetings, corporate training, and events • Ability to travel internationally and obtain and maintain a valid passport • Travel expected to be at least 20% • Flexibility to travel on short notice for urgent business needs • Ability to work around machinery and occasional exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, wet environments, and extreme odors • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 25 pounds • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, and reach as necessary
