📋 Description
• Assist with program evaluation or research planning and design, literature review, data collection, statistical analysis, qualitative analysis, and writing manuscripts • Learn and practice project management skills • Develop field-facing and public-facing research communications plans • Participate in webinars, conferences, and other opportunities for sharing research findings • Attend internal meetings, including Strategy Vertical meetings and meetings with collaborating programmatic teams • Assist with miscellaneous tasks and projects as needed
🎯 Requirements
• Currently enrolled in an academic degree or certificate program; graduate or advanced undergraduate (junior/senior year) level preferred • Individuals not currently enrolled in an educational program may be considered • Proficiency with Excel, including creating and formatting spreadsheets, sorting and filtering data, using simple formulas for basic calculations, and creating basic charts • Solid critical thinking skills • Ability to work independently as a self-starter • High level of maturity and professionalism • Strong written and oral communication skills • Commitment and dedication to improving the lives of animals • Ownership and responsibility for outcomes • Team-oriented approach • Focus on elevating others and reimagining what is possible • Focus on impact and making change for animals • Coursework in research methods, statistics, data science, or similar topics is a plus • Experience using statistical software such as SPSS, Stata, or R is a plus • Experience with program evaluation, research design, or data collection is a plus • Familiarity with animal welfare topics through academic studies, volunteering, or work is a plus • Animal welfare interests aligned with current ASPCA research topics are a plus • Availability during at least some Monday-Friday working hours to attend meetings
🏖️ Benefits
• One semester internship with potential to extend pending the Strategy team’s availability • Pay of $18.00-$20.00 per hour depending on zone, not below applicable local minimum wage • A laptop will be provided • Remote work
