• Build and strengthen relationships with major donors throughout the Midwest • Manage a portfolio of 125+ major donors in key Midwest markets • Secure five- and six-figure gifts and achieve annual revenue goals • Prepare and implement strategic cultivation and solicitation plans • Act on prospect leads identified through research or referrals • Conduct in-person visits, virtual meetings, program site visits, and other donor interactions • Develop personalized donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies • Build relationships with ASPCA program staff, communications staff, and other internal stakeholders • Develop expertise in ASPCA programs and facilities throughout the Midwest • Track donor engagement activity and maintain accurate records in portfolio files and Salesforce • Contribute to stewardship materials and donor communications • Handle sensitive donor information and internal materials discreetly and professionally • Serve as the Advancement team lead for the Midwest and provide internal program updates • Support regional stewardship events for major donors and VIPs • Contribute to revenue reporting, analysis, record keeping, special projects, and departmental priorities • Report directly to the Senior Director, Philanthropy – Western Region; no direct reports
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required • 3 or more years of professional fundraising experience, including major gifts, annual giving, mid-level donor programs, or donor relations • Experience implementing fundraising principles, including donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship • Experience cultivating and soliciting individuals for gifts of $5,000+ • Experience managing donor relationships and developing and implementing moves management strategies • Solid knowledge of fundraising principles, annual giving best practices, and donor stewardship/moves management • Ability to develop and execute creative strategies to advance major gift opportunities • Strong relationship-building, collaboration, written, oral, and public speaking skills • Strong research, critical thinking, analytical, project management, organizational, editing, influencing, and negotiation skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and fundraising databases required; Salesforce preferred • Experience with Airtable and Canva is a plus • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment • Ability to exemplify ASPCA’s core values and behavioral competencies • English (required) • Open to eligible candidates based within the United States • Ability and willingness to travel up to 30% annually, as needed
