📋 Description

• Make knowledge accessible to middle school students and develop students’ cognitive capacity and respect for learning • Implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) • Foster students’ self-esteem, motivation, civic responsibility and leadership • Develop teaching and instructional materials and strategies • Plan for instructional assistants and parental volunteers in classroom management • Implement school policies • Communicate with parents about students’ academic and discipline issues through phone calls, notes, progress reports and other media • Deliver instruction across subjects including reading, writing, spelling, language, vocabulary, math, science, social studies, technology, counseling, study skills, health, problem solving, foreign languages, ESL, family and consumer sciences, physical education, music and chorus • Determine instructional techniques, strategies and methods; adapt curriculum and learning styles to meet and assess student needs • Meet regular and predictable attendance requirements • Develop activities, resources, lesson plans and substitute teaching plans aligned with learning objectives and school guides • Develop, analyze, adjust and implement ILPs based on assessments • Determine appropriate assessment tools and levels • Assess and evaluate student performance, behavior, progress, grades, reports and comprehension of learning objectives • Maintain confidentiality of protected student and staff information • Prioritize student well-being in decision-making • Contribute to professional growth of self and colleagues, share and plan curriculum, stay current with educational trends and maintain state and school requirements • Collaborate to achieve the overall purposes of the school program • Maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning • Perform additional duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Post Bachelors in Education from an accredited college or university, or meets Highly Qualified requirements per the Arizona Department of Education • Valid State Teaching Certificate from any state; AZ preferred • Appropriate endorsements may be required depending on the area of instruction, or appropriate AEPA or NES proficiency exams passed • Satisfactory criminal background check • Current Active AZ Department of Public Safety (DPS) IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card • Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience • Equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education may be considered • Ability to use instructional adaptive technology tools in online courses • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Proficiency with technology, computers and Microsoft Office Suite • Proven written and verbal communication skills • Strong organizational and planning skills • Ability to report to work regularly and punctually • Occasional ability to push or lift up to 15 lbs • Ability to meet stated physical demands, with reasonable accommodations where applicable
