• Responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment • Responsible for the overall design and analysis of safety and non-safety related electrical systems for nuclear and commercial projects • Regularly interfaces with the other technical disciplines (mechanical, nuclear, operations, and electrical engineering teams) for electrical design and consultation • Applies extensive knowledge and experience, industry best practices, regulatory guidance, codes and standards, and good engineering judgment to ensure compliance • Performs a variety of engineering calculations using traditional and advanced engineering methods • Generates and reviews wiring diagrams, single line drawings, and control philosophy documents • Specializes in the preparation of design documents and plant modifications • Conducts mentoring, guidance, and quality reviews of the work of junior colleagues when needed • Recommends new equipment, concepts, and techniques to improve performance, simplify design, reduce costs, and correct design flaws. • Supports installation and testing of site systems and components.
• Bachelor's degree required in electrical engineering or related technical or engineering field • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience • Experience in nuclear industry preferred • PE preferred • Master’s degree preferred • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Mastered in-depth knowledge and experience required in electrical design • Experience leading Electrical system design (e.g., on-site distribution (AC and DC), off-site interfaces (switchyard), grounding and lighting protection, plant lighting systems, battery system design, communications systems, or diesel generators) • Growing familiarity with nuclear regulatory guidance (e.g., NUREG-0800 Ch. 8) • Experience applying relevant codes and standards (IEEE, IEC, EPRI) • Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.
