📋 Description

• Design, model, and document passive thermal insulation systems, including MLI, cryo-MLI, and spray-on foam insulation • Develop and maintain detailed CREO CAD models for thermal analysis, design development, and system integration • Perform integrated thermal analyses using CREO and Ansys Simulation • Define and document analysis assumptions, material properties, boundary conditions, and results • Collaborate with systems, mechanical, and other engineering teams on thermal requirements, interfaces, and design constraints • Prepare engineering drawings, analysis reports, and supporting design documentation • Participate in design reviews, communicate technical findings, and support design revisions throughout development

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering field • 5+ years of relevant engineering experience • In-depth knowledge of CREO CAD, including developing and maintaining component and assembly models • Demonstrated experience using CREO and Ansys Simulation for integrated thermal analysis • Working knowledge of heat transfer fundamentals, including conduction, convection, and radiation • Experience translating analysis results into design recommendations and documenting the supporting technical rationale • Ability to prepare clear engineering documentation and communicate design and analysis findings • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a remote environment • All applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States • Background check required prior to hire • Preferred: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with an emphasis on heat transfer, thermal sciences, or spacecraft thermal design • Preferred: Experience supporting aerospace systems, particularly NASA, commercial space, Department of War (DOW) space, or other space and launch vehicle customers • Preferred: Experience designing, modeling, or analyzing MLI, cryo-MLI, and spray-on foam insulation systems • Preferred: Familiarity with spacecraft thermal environments, vacuum heat transfer, radiation exchange, and cryogenic applications • Preferred: Experience comparing thermal analysis predictions with test data and refining models based on results • Preferred: Experience with Windchill for engineering data management, configuration control, and design documentation • Preferred: Experience supporting aerospace design reviews and coordinating thermal design requirements across engineering disciplines
