📋 Description

• Support CMS pharmacy stars measures • Conduct medication adherence member outreach calls • Perform routine duties in packaging, distribution, and record keeping of pharmaceutical supplies • Assist in preparing compounded, intravenous, total parenteral nutrition, and chemotherapeutic medications • Process physician medication orders in the medication management system under pharmacist supervision • Assess and formulate potential recommendations to physicians under pharmacist supervision • Provide medication-related information to physicians, nurses, and others under pharmacist supervision • Select and prepare medications from patient medication orders • Restock medications, trays, code carts, emergency boxes, and automated dispensing technology • Investigate medication requests and automated dispensing discrepancies • Answer telephones and assist customers • Manage medication and supply inventory, including receiving and restocking orders • Compound specialty drug products and repackage bulk medications • Prepare and label intravenous, total parenteral nutrition, and chemotherapy orders using sterile and aseptic technique • Perform pharmacy quality control checks and document refrigerator temperatures, hood cleaning, and equipment maintenance • Participate in medication selection, procurement, storage, dispensing, and monitoring

🎯 Requirements

• Must be attending an accredited school of Pharmacy • Current and unrestricted pharmacy intern licensure in the state of practice • Arizona incumbents must provide the AZ Board of Pharmacy Wallet Card at time of hire • Good organizational, problem solving, computer, written communication, and verbal communication skills • Knowledge of medication management information system software, Microsoft applications, and automated dispensing systems • Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain it for the duration of employment • An Arizona Criminal History Affidavit must be signed upon hire • Pharmacy technician experience preferred • Additional training in specialty areas preferred • Additional related education and/or experience preferred
