📋 Description

• Manage 6-10 engineers and eventually managers on Beacon's Analytics Systems Team • Coach team members and guide their professional growth • Develop understanding of team activity and products to improve internal processes and integration with Beacon • Steward engineering practices and maintain standards for engineering quality, productivity, and accountability • Scope and prioritize tactical work in alignment with strategic initiatives and other teams • Maintain an outcome-oriented, current, and aligned development roadmap • Communicate roadmap and priorities to internal stakeholders • Own project management for team initiatives, including scope, timelines, and expectations • Drive product direction and discovery for the Analytics Systems Team • Establish processes and cross-functional connections to build product intuition • Own prioritization decisions for high-impact customer and business problems • Develop and execute a strategic vision for Analytics Systems supporting Life Science projects, diagnostic workflows, and biomarker discovery using real-world data • Report directly to Beacon's VP of Analytics and Machine Learning

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of management experience • Familiarity with managing mid- to large-sized analytics engineering teams • Experience and knowledge across analytics engineering, including dbt and SQLMesh • Experience with data modeling and pipelines, including Snowflake, Databricks, Argo, and Airflow • Experience with BI tooling, including Superset, Looker, and Tableau • Experience working in medical devices, clinical diagnostics, real-world data, pharma/biotech, or related fields • Experience working in a regulated industry and navigating strict design controls • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills • Ability to align partners around decisions, tradeoffs, and evolving plans • Ability to understand user needs and translate them into prioritization decisions • Track record of anticipating company-wide needs and opportunities • Experience addressing bandwidth limitations, technical debt, and non-iterative processes
