📋 Description

• Lead Security Operations and Security Engineering at EDB, reporting to the CISO • Own threat detection, incident response, and scalable security engineering • Lead incident response end to end, from intake and severity modeling through after-action reviews and improvement • Partner with Legal on investigations • Direct detection engineering, threat hunting, and SIEM, EDR, SOAR, and cloud security platforms • Develop preventive controls, least privilege, and identity assurance across employees, contractors, and build systems • Build the insider threat program with HR, Legal, and IT • Use automation and agentic AI to extend analyst capacity while retaining analyst decision ownership • Integrate acquired companies and new environments into EDB standards • Partner with IT and Product leadership on preventive controls in platforms, pipelines, and products • Provide security input to third-party risk and device posture with GRC • Scale organizational design, operating rhythms, roadmap, budget, and vendor strategy

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of management experience leading security teams • 7+ years of hands-on experience in security operations, incident response, detection, or security engineering • Track record of scaling a security function through rapid growth, including hiring, automation, and operating discipline • Strategic thinking beyond the immediate scope of the role • Ability to translate technical risk into business impact for executives, legal, customers, and IT and Product counterparts • Comfort in a global, remote-first environment with flexible schedules and on-call responsibilities • Hands-on scripting or automation experience such as Python or Go • Experience applying AI or agent-based automation to security workflows • Cloud security experience and background in M&A security integration • Experience building an insider threat or identity assurance program
