📋 Description

• Serve as the company program engineering representative from conception through construction completion of gas generation pursuits • Help define company engineering and gas business plans for the gas generation segment • Ensure final engineering products meet client reliability, operability, and constructability requirements • Interact with interconnecting utilities, generator suppliers, and balance of plant equipment providers • Understand client design criteria and evolving energy-market design trends for gas generation plants • Coordinate and support engineering activities, detailed planning, and integration of client and company technical activities • Develop and facilitate safety standards for the gas generation engineering program • Ensure projects comply with applicable industry safety standards including NESC, NEC, and NFPA • Perform root cause analysis for engineering and electrical safety items • Develop and implement program management policies, standards, procedures, and electrical design bases • Own the electrical design basis for power blocks, transformers, switchgear, generator protection, grounding, cabling, and lighting • Direct electrical interface design for balance of plant equipment and plant control system integration • Ensure electrical studies are scoped, performed, and reconciled, including load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash, grounding, motor starting, and generator interconnection studies • Evaluate technologies, resource needs, market demands, project feasibility, economic analysis, and value engineering • Maintain design basis document libraries and ensure procurement managers have current design basis information • Support engineering-lead reviews of owner, contractor, supplier, and company scopes • Support constructability reviews of power block layouts and modular or pre-assembled systems • Support plant startup, first fire, synchronization, performance testing, and commissioning design requirements • Act as escalation point for electrical commissioning issues and utility interconnection witness testing • Manage and lead engineering staff and orchestrate necessary meetings, presentations, and technical discussions

🎯 Requirements

• Four-year Engineering degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited college • 5+ of progressive electrical engineering experience in gas power generation • Two or more years of leadership experience • Registered Professional Engineering (PE) license is strongly preferred • Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR) • Up to 25% travel required, subject to fluctuations as needs dictate • Knowledge of reciprocating engine and aeroderivative gas turbine generating equipment and associated balance of plant equipment • Substation, generator interconnection, and overhead and underground construction knowledge • Civil, mechanical, and electrical power engineering principles • Familiarity with computer and analytical tools for equipment sizing, load flow, protection, and power quality • Familiarity with NEC, NESC, NFPA, and IEEE standards and utility interconnection requirements • Ability to influence and persuade groups toward common objectives • Effective oral, written, listening, and presentation skills
