⢠Design, configure, implement, and maintain UNIX hardware and operating system environments, including AIX, HP-UX, and Solaris ⢠Optimize backup processes and disk-space allocations ⢠Perform installations and upgrades ⢠Monitor and review logs ⢠Apply operating-system security measures ⢠Design and implement high-availability and redundant systems ⢠Plan data migrations between systems ⢠Provide technical expertise and assistance to team members ⢠Monitor operating-system, hardware, storage, and backup procedures ⢠Determine execution and recovery times during disaster-recovery and production-environment testing ⢠Design and implement efficiency improvements ⢠Develop and enforce disaster-recovery and data-archiving policies, procedures, and tests ⢠Participate in project analysis, including feasibility studies, scope, timelines, task lists, and project duration ⢠Design, implement, and perform UNIX/Linux authentication and security audits ⢠Provide remediation for identified security discrepancies ⢠Review real-time trending information and contact tiered support when necessary ⢠Maintain contact with users and supervisors/managers regarding open or pending service calls ⢠Assess and develop long-term strategic goals for production operating-system versions with data owners ⢠Configure and manage Linux/Unix operating systems, install operating-system software, troubleshoot, maintain network-component integrity, and implement enhancements to improve reliability and performance
⢠Seven (7) years of systems administration experience on UNIX/Linux operating systems, including AIX, Solaris, or HP-UX ⢠Five (5) years of experience with disaster recovery and data replication ⢠Five (5) years of hands-on troubleshooting, tuning, and patching experience ⢠Five (5) years of administration, configuration, and troubleshooting experience with UNIX server clusters, load balancing, and virtualization ⢠Proven experience working with both UNIX and Linux operating systems and understanding their differences ⢠Understanding of STIGs and experience with STIG tools, application, and testing ⢠Experience with OS and application updates and patching, general maintenance, file-system management, and verifying directory/mount points ⢠Experience operating in development, testing, and production environments ⢠Familiarity with cloud computing and cloud architecture ⢠Knowledge of virtual environments such as VMware and Kubernetes ⢠Experience performing backups and restores ⢠Command-line system administration experience with file-system management, user-account management, and verifying network configurations ⢠Strong understanding of virtual and physical network configuration ⢠Understanding of DISA STIG guidance and RMF ⢠In-depth IT-systems troubleshooting experience ⢠Clearance requirement: None ⢠Computing-environment certifications/knowledge listed: HP UX CSA, HP OpenVMS, GCUX, SCSA, SCNA, UNIX AIX, Linux, RHCT, RHCE, RHCSA
